Wow, we have been busy lately.
This Sunday, along with others, mainly our friend Roberto who also grows lavender, we’re organizing a Lavender Festival at our beautiful local castle, the Rocca Montevarmine.
Well, organizing…that’s an interesting concept here in Italy.
Italians in general I think can safely be described as spontaneous and last minute. That is exactly how this festival planning has been, it’s just 2 days before show time, and we still haven’t sorted who is providing the tables and chairs!
Regardless, I do believe it’s all coming together, and here’s the flyer:
Right after I write this post I’m off to the castle to meet the cleaning crew and a woman I just met last night who will be bring all sorts of baskets and other things we can fill with lavender and other decorating things. Did I mention how things are last minute?
Here’s a photo of the lavender I took just minutes ago. The flowers are just opening, every day the field becomes more purple.
Last night I cut loads of lavender and guests helped bundle them.
Both guests and friends are pitching in to help me prepare things for sale at the festival, like sachets, bundles, etc.
Here are yesterday evenings bundles drying in our shed:
Now, off to the castle.
More later as the next days progress!
